Its great to see the Westminster – Hampton Court boats proving busy in these recent photos taken this week. The up river service has always been a route that you can see some of the oldest and most elegant boats on the Thames , many of those built by Salters and the brilliant designs still going strong today over 100 years later! It is a pity that some of the operators do not take more pride in this fact and keep brass cleats gleaming and the boats looking as good as they should as i very much doubt the modern designs we see on the river will match the proud and lengthy careers the up river boats continue to serve.
After Kingwood gave up her up river turn, the current up river fleet consists of:
Clifton Castle (rarely used)
Boats depart from Westminster at 1030,1100,1200 and 1400 – the 1100 and 1200 services go all the way to Hampton Court.
